CareVet of Ancient City in St. Augustine is looking for a veterinarian to join our experienced, supportive team. Our team collaborates closely with local specialists and referral partners, creating an environment where you’re never practicing alone. We maintain direct relationships with specialists including criticalists, surgeons, radiologists, internists, oncologists, neurologists, and ophthalmologists. We also partner with a mobile internal medicine specialist who provides both telehealth and in-person consultations, including advanced diagnostics such as ultrasound, echocardiography, and endoscopy. For particularly fearful or reactive patients, we even collaborate with a local trainer who offers real-time behavioral support during visits, helping create a safer and more positive experience for pets and staff alike. Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
  • Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
  • Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
  • Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
  • Strong fondness and understanding of animals
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of animal behavior
  • Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals

Responsibilities

  • Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
  • Treat and dress wounds
  • Perform surgery on animals
