About The Position

The Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a Systems/LAN administrator who will be responsible for the technical development and maintenance of Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and Information Technology systems and services. This position will also be responsible for maintaining mission-critical networks in optimal operational performance, installing end-user software and hardware, computer imaging, troubleshooting issues, and problem-solving complex technical systems utilizing advanced networking technologies.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, cellular, telephony, network protocols, and information technology systems
  • Knowledge of Personal Computers (PC), tablets, and cell phones
  • Knowledge of The incarcerated offenders' tablet system
  • Knowledge of Computer hardware, operating systems, and application software
  • Knowledge of Telecommunication systems
  • Knowledge of Video and digital systems
  • Knowledge of Desktop support and ticketing systems
  • Knowledge of Security software and systems, anti-virus, Active Directory user accounts and resources, Exchange email accounts, Smartphones, Cloud, and SaaS
  • Knowledge of Printers, copiers, scanners, and faxes
  • Knowledge of CATV
  • Knowledge of Data backup systems, including media management
  • Knowledge of English sentence structure and grammar
  • Skill in Customer service
  • Skill in Building and maintaining interpersonal relationships

Nice To Haves

  • Network certification (i.e., Computing Technology Industry Association A+ Certification (CompTIA A+), Computing Technology Industry Association Network + certification (CompTIA Network + [New]), or Microsoft Solution Expert Certification (MCSE))
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a networking environment and technical training covering data communications principles, electronics and LAN and WAN technologies

Responsibilities

  • Installs, configures, and maintains IT systems, agency systems, and agency vendor systems, to include Hardware/Software/PC’s/Tablets/Networks, and all electronic devices needed for support of the Agency
  • Monitors, maintains, installs, and coordinates system hardware plans and implementations
  • Develops reports, plans, and implements documentation
  • Creates, updates, moves, and deletes System Administration transactions
  • Enforces security practices and monitors
  • Drives on State business
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
