About The Position

The Vehicle Maintenance Technician III is responsible for performing skilled diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work on a variety of gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. This role involves working independently or as part of a team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the transportation fleet. The position requires adherence to safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty diesel and gasoline engines and related vehicle systems.
  • Possession of a valid Nevada Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including confined spaces and at heights.
  • Must attach a current DMV report (no more than 6 months old) with proof of valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE Certifications (e.g., T1-T8, L1, L2, T3).
  • Experience with diagnostic software and electronic control modules (ECM).
  • Experience with alternative fuel vehicles (e.g., CNG, propane).

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work on gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance inspections and services.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and tools to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental policies.
  • Assist in training and mentoring lower-level technicians.
  • Respond to emergency repair calls as needed.
