About The Position

The Vehicle Service Worker performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of district vehicles and equipment. This role involves diagnosing mechanical problems, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the fleet. The position requires adherence to safety standards and proper use of tools and equipment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid Nevada driver's license.
Current DMV report (no more than 6 months old).
Minimum of two years of experience in the maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to operate a variety of tools and equipment, including diagnostic equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Ability to maintain accurate records.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects.

Nice To Haves

ASE certification in automotive or medium/heavy duty truck repair.
Experience with heavy equipment repair.
Experience with welding and fabrication.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on district vehicles and equipment, including oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on various types of vehicles and equipment.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure vehicles meet all safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
Operate a variety of tools and equipment, including diagnostic equipment, lifts, and hand tools.
Assist with the inventory of parts and supplies.
Respond to emergency repair calls as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
