About The Position

This position is responsible for performing skilled diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work on a variety of gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The role involves inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining accurate repair records. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
  • Possession of a valid Nevada Driver's License.
  • Must attach a current DMV report (no more than 6 months old) with proof of valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE certifications in relevant areas (e.g., Medium/Heavy Duty Truck, Brakes, Suspension & Steering, Electrical/Electronic Systems).
  • Experience with specialized vehicle systems (e.g., HVAC, emissions control).
  • Experience working in a school district transportation department.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work on gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Ensure all work performed meets safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Operate a variety of tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Respond to emergency repair needs as required.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.
