About The Position

The Vehicle Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing skilled maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. This role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems. The technician will also be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, conducting safety inspections, and ensuring all repairs meet established standards. This position may require working in various weather conditions and may involve some heavy lifting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in automotive technology or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an automotive technician.
  • Valid Nevada driver's license.
  • Current DMV report (no more than 6 months old).
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing gasoline and diesel engines.
  • Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to complete a three-year employment history in the application.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE certifications in relevant areas.
  • Experience with heavy-duty truck or bus maintenance.
  • Experience with fleet management software.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on a variety of vehicles and equipment.
  • Conduct inspections and identify potential issues or needed repairs.
  • Repair and replace automotive parts and components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and specialized tools.
  • Assist with inventory management of parts and supplies.
  • Respond to emergency repair calls as needed.
