About The Position

The Vehicle Acquisition Specialist acquires additional inventory for the dealership by purchasing vehicles from customers. The role is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience, managing expectations, and communicating throughout AutoNation’s “We’ll Buy Your Car” process, with the goal of delivering on the program’s “check within an hour” promise. The position offers flexible hours, hourly pay, and a bonus for each vehicle purchased.

The specialist responds to prospective sellers, arranges appraisal appointments, reviews vehicle condition reports, inspects vehicles onsite, and completes the same-day payment process. The position also refers customers who would rather trade in their vehicles to the sales team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Extremely self-motivated.
• Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.
• Ability to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Demonstrated communication, prospecting, and interpersonal skills.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Use sound judgment, research, and excellent interpersonal skills to make offers on vehicles.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record.

• Sales or customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming leads through AutoNation and third-party websites, by phone, online, and from walk-in traffic.
• Use available resources to identify and engage private parties looking to sell their vehicles.
• Set appointments for potential customers to visit the dealership for an appraisal.
• Execute AutoNation’s We’ll Buy Your Car same-day payment process.
• Review vehicle condition reports and inspect vehicles onsite.
• Interact with customers in person and over the phone throughout the day.
• Refer customers who prefer to trade in their vehicles to the sales team.
