About The Position

The Vehicle Acquisition Specialist acquires additional dealership inventory by purchasing vehicles from customers. The role is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience, managing customer expectations, and communicating throughout AutoNation’s We’ll Buy Your Car process. The Associate works to meet the program’s “check within an hour” promise. The position offers flexible hours and hourly pay plus a bonus for each vehicle purchased.

The role involves responding to prospective sellers, identifying and engaging private parties, arranging appraisal appointments, reviewing vehicle condition reports, inspecting vehicles onsite, and completing the same-day payment process. Associates also refer customers who prefer to trade in their vehicles to the sales team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Be extremely self-motivated.
• Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.
• Ability to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Demonstrated communication, prospecting, and interpersonal skills.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Experience and desire to work with technology.
• Use sound judgment, research, and excellent interpersonal skills to make vehicle offers.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record.
• Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming leads from AutoNation and third-party websites by phone, internet, and walk-in traffic.
• Use available resources to identify and engage private parties looking to sell their vehicles.
• Set appointments for potential customers to visit the dealership for an appraisal.
• Execute AutoNation’s We’ll Buy Your Car Same-Day Payment process.
• Review vehicle condition reports and inspect vehicles onsite.
• Interact with customers throughout the day in person and over the phone.
• Refer customers who prefer to trade in their vehicles to the sales team.
