About The Position

The Vehicle Acquisition Specialist acquires additional inventory for the dealership by purchasing vehicles from customers. The role provides an exceptional customer experience by managing expectations and communicating throughout AutoNation’s “We’ll Buy Your Car” process, with a goal of delivering on the program’s “check within an hour” promise. Associates respond to customer leads, arrange appraisal appointments, assess vehicles, and make purchase offers. The position offers flexible hours and hourly pay plus commission based on vehicles purchased. The stated average salary is $3,500 to $5,000 per month.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Extremely self-motivated.
• Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.
• Ability to provide an exceptional customer experience.
• Demonstrated communication, prospecting, and interpersonal skills.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Ability to work with technology.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record.

• Sales or customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming leads from AutoNation and third-party websites, by phone, internet, and walk-in traffic.
• Use available resources to identify and engage private parties who are looking to sell their vehicles.
• Set appointments for potential customers to visit the dealership for an appraisal.
• Execute AutoNation’s We’ll Buy Your Car Same-Day Payment process.
• Review vehicle condition reports and inspect vehicles onsite.
• Interact with customers throughout the day, both in person and over the phone.
• Refer customers who prefer to trade in their vehicles to the sales team.
• Manage customer expectations and communicate throughout the vehicle-purchasing process.
• Strive to deliver on the We’ll Buy Your Car program’s “check within an hour” promise.
• Research and use sound judgment to make offers on vehicles.
