About The Position

AutoNation is hiring a Vehicle Acquisition Specialist to acquire dealership inventory by purchasing vehicles from customers. The role focuses on creating an exceptional customer experience, setting and managing customer expectations, and communicating throughout AutoNation’s “We’ll Buy Your Car” process. The Associate works to fulfill the program’s “check within an hour” promise. The position offers flexible hours and hourly pay plus a bonus for each vehicle purchased.

The specialist responds to customer leads, finds and engages private sellers, arranges appraisal appointments, reviews vehicle condition reports, inspects vehicles, and makes offers. The role also supports customers who decide to trade in their vehicles by referring them to the sales team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Extremely self-motivated.
• Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.
• Ability to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Demonstrated communication, prospecting, and interpersonal skills.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Sound judgment and the ability to research and make vehicle offers.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record.

• Sales or customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming leads through AutoNation and third-party websites, by phone, internet, and walk-in traffic.
• Use available resources to identify and engage private parties looking to sell their vehicles.
• Set appointments for potential customers to visit the dealership for an appraisal.
• Execute AutoNation’s We’ll Buy Your Car Same-Day Payment process.
• Review vehicle condition reports and inspect vehicles onsite.
• Interact with customers throughout the day in person and over the phone.
• Refer customers who prefer to trade in their vehicles to the sales team.
• Manage customer expectations and communicate throughout the vehicle-purchasing process.
• Work to deliver on the program’s “check within an hour” promise.
