About The Position

The Wayne County Transportation Department in Honesdale, PA is hiring a dependable, compassionate driver to provide door-to-door transportation for county residents, including helping seniors access essential services and appointments. Requirements

• One year of employment which required operation of a motor vehicle as a regular duty; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
• No suspension of driver’s license within the last three years.
• Meet the PA residency requirement.
• Able to perform essential job functions.
• Pass a background investigation.
• Pass a medical examination and drug screening.
• Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

• Drive county vehicles an average of 150 miles each day while ensuring passenger comfort
• Help senior adults and wheelchair dependent persons with boarding and exiting in various conditions
• Communicate clearly with consumers and staff through person to person interaction and two way radio
• Adjust to daily route changes and maintain flexibility in service needs
• Provide friendly interaction and positive social contact throughout the day
