About The Position

Valet Runner & Bell Person at AHC Hospitality. This is a part-time position with availability for 3-5 days a week, covering 1st and 2nd shifts. The role involves greeting and assisting guests in the valet and main lobbies, handling luggage, parking vehicles, and acting as a guest service ambassador. AHC Hospitality focuses on providing exceptional guest experiences and supporting associate growth.

Requirements

  • Must be able to run, walk, and stand for upwards of 8 hours.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Vehicle operator's license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Related experience is preferred.
  • Must be or become TIPS certified.
  • General knowledge of PMS.
  • Advanced knowledge of Grand Rapids/greater Grand Rapids area.
  • Ability to lift large parcels.
  • Ability to build guest relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Tips certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist guests with valet and bellman needs.
  • Drive and park guest vehicles safely and in a timely manner.
  • Perform bell service needs for guests.
  • Provide a safe working environment.
  • Understand, follow, and maintain AHC guest service standards.
  • Inspect airlock and motor lobby to ensure the area is always neat and clean.
  • Monitor valet parking department equipment (bell carts, bell stand, etc.) and report any needed repairs.
  • Attend departmental meetings.
  • Follow AHC handbook policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Actively look for ways to assist guests and go above and beyond to provide guest service.
  • Ensure the quality and level of service expected by management and guests is excellent and follows company standards and policies.
  • Read or listen to Daily Beat.
  • Read and understand all memos pertaining to their department.
  • Use other AHC hotels and staff as resources.
  • Complete all daily responsibilities/cleaning task lists.
  • Actively monitor motor lobby for guest arrivals.
  • Retrieve guest vehicles from the parking ramp.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction upon arrival and departure.
  • Maintain airlock and motor lobby cleanliness and overall deep cleaning.
  • Follow hotel green policies.
  • Ensure trash/recyclables are taken out.
  • Ensure bell carts are vacuumed.
  • Actively work with fellow valet staff, while following all departmental rules.
  • Perform any other additional responsibilities asked by management.
  • Set up guest amenities.
  • Conduct shoe shines.
  • Work with integrity.
  • Handle confidential guest information.
