About The Position

The Guest Service Associate provides attentive, friendly, and efficient hospitality services to guests. The role parks and retrieves guest vehicles promptly and safely, assists with luggage and bell services, and helps guests with directions, transportation, reservations, and information about the facility and nearby attractions. The associate explains parking rates and retrieval procedures, manages claim checks and vehicle-related records, and collects parking revenue when needed. This is a seasonal position at Sarasota Memorial with a seasonal AM/PM/OVN work schedule. Hourly base pay is $10.98 plus tips.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• A valid driver’s license for the state where applying, or within a commutable distance of that state, as applicable.
• One month of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
• Ability to read and write standard English; comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; and write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations to guests, clients, and coworkers.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic with three-digit numbers and to use American currency; understand 24-hour and military time systems and rates based on elapsed time.
• Ability to perform parallel parking.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to operate a manual transmission is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with guests, coworkers, and clients; acknowledge and greet guests within five feet and use guest last names during interactions.
• Welcome guests using the salutation of the day, follow proper phone etiquette, and remain in designated areas when not completing tasks.
• Park and retrieve vehicles slowly and cautiously; assist with bell services and luggage storage; open vehicle and hotel doors for guests.
• Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries; provide information about facility outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, and local attractions; deliver messages, items, and guest amenities; shuttle guests to approved locations.
• Explain parking rates and vehicle retrieval procedures; issue claim checks after receiving vehicle keys and collect claim checks before returning keys.
• Complete and maintain vehicle ticket information, including key tags, guest folios, vehicle locations, damage surveys, and claim-check receipts; record vehicle locations on key tags after parking.
• Calculate and collect revenue for vehicles when needed.
