SAIC is seeking a UX/UI Engineer to support Joint Engineering and Test Enterprise Portal (JETEP) software development activities by deploying tools, capabilities, and content. The role focuses primarily on UI/UX design and collaboration with requirements, development, and testing teams. The engineer will design intuitive user interfaces and contribute production frontend code using React and TypeScript, working within the existing codebase to implement features, improve shared components, and resolve UI issues as priorities require. The position involves translating user needs, business rules, and UI requirements into practical designs; creating user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes in Figma; documenting expected interaction behavior; and maintaining consistent design patterns aligned with MUI and the application design system. The engineer will conduct design reviews and usability evaluations, partner with testers on acceptance scenarios and accessibility, implement and troubleshoot React/TypeScript features, integrate backend APIs, and participate in Agile planning and delivery activities. Interfaces must meet applicable Section 508 requirements and project accessibility standards. SAIC is a mission integrator serving defense, space, intelligence, and civilian markets with technology, engineering, and professional services. The company states that it has approximately 23,000 employees and is headquartered in Reston, Virginia.
