About The Position

The UX/UI Engineer designs and delivers intuitive, accessible, and visually consistent digital experiences that support business objectives and improve customer and employee experiences. The role combines user experience research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, and front-end collaboration to create scalable, user-centered applications. Working closely with Product Managers, Software Engineers, Business Analysts, Quality, and business stakeholders, the UX/UI Engineer translates complex workflows and user needs into clear user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and implementation-ready interface specifications. The role helps ensure digital products are usable, responsive, accessible, and aligned with the corporate design system and enterprise design standards. The position covers information architecture and interaction design; responsive user interface and visual design; design specifications and engineering collaboration; and product and stakeholder engagement. It includes creating and testing designs, documenting interface behavior, supporting React implementation, reviewing developed features, contributing to Agile activities, facilitating workshops, and maintaining design documentation.

  • At least 2 years of experience in UX design, UI design, product design, digital design, front-end design, or a related discipline, including relevant project or freelance experience.
  • Experience working within an established design system and collaborating with component-based front-end frameworks such as React.
  • Portfolio demonstrating user-centered design thinking, research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, and high-fidelity prototyping.
  • Hands-on experience with Figma, FigJam, Miro, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar design and collaboration tools.
  • Experience creating user flows, wireframes, responsive layouts, interactive prototypes, and implementation-ready interface designs.
  • Knowledge of established design systems, reusable component patterns, responsive design, and accessibility principles, with the ability to apply corporate design standards consistently.
  • Hands-on experience with React and component-based front-end development, with the ability to collaborate effectively with software engineers.
  • Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain design decisions and incorporate feedback.

  • Experience using product analytics or usability metrics to evaluate and improve digital experiences.
  • Experience supporting digital transformation, legacy-system modernization, or multi-product platform initiatives.
  • Experience in life sciences, healthcare, laboratory, biobanking, informatics, or another regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of AI-enabled experiences, conversational interfaces, or AI-assisted design tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop information architectures, navigation models, content hierarchies, user flows, and interaction patterns for complex digital products.
  • Create sketches, wireframes, clickable prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that communicate concepts and intended behavior.
  • Design efficient workflows for data-intensive, transaction-oriented, and role-based enterprise applications.
  • Validate concepts through iterative testing and incorporate feedback into design decisions.
  • Document edge cases, empty states, validations, error handling, and responsive behavior.
  • Design modern, responsive interfaces for desktop, tablet, and mobile experiences.
  • Apply visual hierarchy, typography, color, spacing, iconography, and interaction feedback consistently across products.
  • Create polished mockups and prototypes using Figma and related design tools.
  • Develop illustrations, visual assets, and supporting content when needed to improve comprehension and usability.
  • Partner with stakeholders to align product experiences with organizational standards.
  • Provide detailed design specifications, interaction notes, assets, and handoff materials for development teams.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers on technical feasibility, responsive behavior, approved component usage, React implementation, and other front-end decisions.
  • Use working knowledge of React and component-based front-end development to support implementation and communicate effectively with software engineers.
  • Review implemented features to verify alignment with approved designs and expected user behavior.
  • Participate in Agile activities, including discovery, backlog refinement, sprint planning, design reviews, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Facilitate design workshops, discovery sessions, ideation activities, and solution reviews with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Present research findings, design rationale, prototypes, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to define experience requirements, acceptance criteria, and design priorities.
  • Build productive relationships with users and stakeholders to support adoption and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain design documentation and decision history to support traceability and future enhancements.
