SAIC is seeking a UX/UI Engineer to support Joint Engineering and Test Enterprise Portal (JETEP) software development activities by deploying tools, capabilities, and content. The role focuses primarily on UI/UX design and collaboration with requirements, development, and testing teams, while also contributing production frontend code using React and TypeScript. The engineer will work in the existing codebase to implement features, improve shared components, and resolve UI issues as priorities require. The position involves translating user needs, business rules, and UI requirements into practical designs; creating user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes in Figma; and designing new experiences as well as improving existing application interfaces. The engineer documents expected behavior, maintains consistent design patterns and reusable components aligned with MUI and the application design system, and collaborates with developers to balance usability, technical feasibility, and delivery priorities. The engineer also partners with testers to define UI acceptance scenarios, evaluate workflows and accessibility edge cases, and review implementation against requirements and designs. They implement and troubleshoot React/TypeScript features, integrate backend APIs, follow established coding and review practices, and help ensure interfaces meet applicable Section 508 requirements and project accessibility standards. The role participates in Agile planning, refinement, demonstrations, and reviews, and communicates progress, dependencies, and delivery risks across the team.
