About The Position

We are seeking full-time Utility Steward to support the team by demonstrating the highest standards of culinary excellence, accountability, respect, integrity, and compassion. The utility steward is responsible for providing support to the Food and Beverage Department by maintaining the cleanliness of all kitchen equipment and back-of-house work area, including dishwashing of china, glassware, flatware. Maintains the food storeroom and executes special projects under the direction of the Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine and/or Executive Chef. May also set up public areas and help in dining area as requested by management. This is a safety sensitive position. We have a full-time opportunity for varied shifts available. Weeknight, weekend, and holiday availability required.

Requirements

• Able to understand, retain and apply basic instructions to perform routine tasks with limited supervision.
• Able to read and interpret work-related documents, including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and labels.
• Able to perform strenuous physical labor, lifting, carrying, etc.
• Reliable, predictable, and punctual, to provide timely service to internal and external customers and to support uninterrupted business operations.

Nice To Haves

• Identifies areas for improvement, proposes possible solutions, and participates in data collection and process changes as part of Quality Assurance Process Improvement process.
• 1 year experience.
• Sanitation Certificate.
• Shifts vary, flexibility in scheduling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, supplies, pots/pans, small wares, china, glass, and silver according to established safety standards and regulations.
• Operate dishwasher and other kitchen cleaning equipment.
• Cleans kitchen floors following standard procedures.
• Applies knowledge of safe use and storage of chemicals and equipment.
• Maintains and records data on required logs per company policies and procedures.
• Completes daily and weekly cleaning assignments per task lists.
• Regularly empties trash containers; shifts and cleans garbage cans; properly operates compactor.
• Minimizes loss and breakage through proper use, cleaning and storage of equipment and supplies.
• Performs duties in a timely and efficient manner and on a schedule determined by kitchen and dining operations.
• Identifies areas for improvement, proposes possible solutions, and participates in data collection and process changes as part of Quality Assurance Process Improvement process.
