About The Position
Northern Lights Locating & Inspection, Inc. is hiring an experienced Utility Locator to locate and document underground utilities in Park Ridge, Illinois. The company has protected underground utility infrastructure since 2001 and performs nationwide utility locating, inspection, and sewer imaging projects. This is a full-time employee role with a stated hourly salary range of $20.00 to $30.00. The position offers independence in an assigned work area and requires working in all weather conditions, maintaining company equipment and vehicles, communicating with excavators, property owners, and team members, and participating in an on-call rotation. Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of utility locating experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of 811 laws and best locating practices.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a drug screen.

Responsibilities
- Locate underground utilities in compliance with 811 dig laws.
- Read and interpret utility maps, as-built drawings, and GIS data.
- Use electronic locating equipment and multiple locating methods.
- Mark utilities accurately using paint and flags.
- Document work in a mobile app, including photos and reports.
- Investigate and document excavation-related utility damages.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
- Work independently in an assigned area and communicate with excavators, property owners, and team members.
- Maintain company equipment and vehicles.
- Maintain a tobacco-free company vehicle.
