About The Position

As a Utility Coordinator at LJA, you will support transportation projects by coordinating with utility companies, clients, and project teams. You will assist with utility conflict assessments, document and plan reviews, utility agreements, cost estimates, and right-of-way (ROW) documentation while working on high-profile interstate corridors and multidisciplinary arterial projects for state and local government clients. The role includes opportunities to work directly with professional engineers and senior staff, interact with clients and consultants, and learn and teach in a peer setting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or some college experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to use Excel and Word.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Canva and Copilot.
• Previous work experience with local government entities.
• Team mentality.

Responsibilities

• Contact and maintain relationships with utility companies and their staff.
• Attend virtual and in-person meetings with clients, utility companies, and teammates.
• Perform utility conflict assessments and document and plan reviews.
• Prepare utility agreements and cost estimates, and review right-of-way documents.
• Contribute to transportation projects, including interstate corridors and multidisciplinary arterial projects for state and local government clients.
• Learn and teach in a peer setting.
• Develop and use advanced techniques, theory, precepts, and practices.
• Interact with clients and other consultants.
