About The Position

The Utility Clerk performs general maintenance and cleaning duties and helps maintain high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. The role includes collecting and returning carts and flatbeds from the parking lot, keeping the club entrance stocked with clean, working carts, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the club and its outdoor grounds. The Utility Clerk also operates designated cleaning and waste-handling equipment, restocks supplies, performs minor building repairs, and supports other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Requirements

• Successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas; workers under 18 may perform parking lot cart functions.

Nice To Haves

• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience.
• Prior retail or wholesale experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide members with prompt and courteous service and assistance.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards for members and team members.
• Clean all areas of the club, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
• Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, remove trash and debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and club exterior, and keep carts stocked at the entrance.
• Verify carts are clean and in working order, and remove carts that are unsuitable for use.
• Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks such as wet and dry mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
• Prioritize cleaning and maintenance work efficiently across the club.
• Operate the floor scrubber, trash compactor, and cardboard baler safely and efficiently in accordance with established safety standards.
• Restock maintenance and cleaning supplies and keep supply areas on the receiving dock and maintenance closets clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be needed.
• Follow club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including work in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
