About The Position

The Utility Clerk performs general maintenance and cleaning duties to maintain high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. The role gathers and returns carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, keeps carts accessible and in working order, and maintains the cleanliness of the club’s interior and exterior. It also includes operating cleaning and waste-handling equipment, restocking supplies, performing minor building repairs, and notifying management when major repairs may be needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Requirements

• Successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas; individuals younger than 18 may perform parking lot cart functions.

Nice To Haves

• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience.
• Prior retail or wholesale experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide members with prompt and courteous service and assistance while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the club, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
• Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, and remove trash and debris from parking lots, cart corrals, and the club exterior.
• Keep carts stocked at the entrance, verify they are clean and in working order, and remove carts that are unsuitable for use.
• Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
• Prioritize cleaning and maintenance responsibilities efficiently across the club.
• Safely operate the floor scrubber, trash compactor, and cardboard baler according to established safety standards.
• Restock maintenance and cleaning supplies and keep supply areas on the receiving dock and maintenance closets clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be required.
• Follow club policies and procedures, complete assigned duties, and work in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
