About The Position

The Utility Clerk performs general maintenance and cleaning duties while maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. The role includes gathering and returning carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, keeping carts clean and ready for member use, and maintaining the cleanliness of the club’s interior and exterior areas. The Utility Clerk provides prompt, courteous service, follows club policies and safety procedures, and may work in other departments as needed.

Requirements

• Successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas.
• Must be able to use a pallet jack to pull and push pallets.
• May need to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds and, with assistance, heavy or awkward objects weighing more than 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience preferred, but not required.
• Prior retail or wholesale experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide members with prompt and courteous service and assistance.
• Maintain high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members.
• Clean all areas of the club, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
• Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, ensuring carts are stocked, clean, and in working order.
• Remove trash and debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and exterior of the club.
• Remove carts that are not suitable for use and return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Perform cleaning tasks including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
• Prioritize maintenance and cleaning responsibilities efficiently across the club.
• Operate the floor scrubber, trash compactor, and cardboard baler safely and according to established safety standards.
• Restock maintenance and cleaning supplies and keep supply areas clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be needed.
• Follow club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including duties in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
