About The Position

Planet Honda is hiring a Used Vehicle Buyer to grow its used-car inventory by identifying acquisition and upgrade opportunities through the service drive, Kelley Blue Book, traditional auctions, and other sources. The role guides customers through the vehicle exchange process while delivering strong customer service. Dealership experience is not necessary, and training will be provided to the right candidate.

This is a full-time, performance-driven position with estimated annual earnings of $80,000 to $120,000 or more. Pay may vary based on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and physical location; compensation includes bonuses based on individual units acquired and manufacturer approvability. Saturday and evening availability is required.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of automotive industry experience.
• Ability to work independently and meet goals with minimal oversight.
• Familiarity with dealership and customer relationship management systems.
• Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction and retention.
• Exceptional communication skills and an ability to connect with people.
• Strong organizational skills and a tech-savvy mindset.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in retail, sales, telemarketing, or similar customer-facing roles.

Responsibilities

• Build used-car inventory through direct contacts, generated leads, off-site auctions, dealers, customer internet inquiries, and the service drive.
• Manage vehicle intake and purchases by appraising vehicle condition, negotiating purchase prices, and processing related documentation.
• Identify acquisition opportunities through Kelley Blue Book ICO, traditional auctions, and service drive customers.
• Monitor market and retail trends to plan inventory needs.
• Work with service and sales teams to ensure acquired vehicles are reconditioned as needed and sold promptly.
• Respond promptly, professionally, accurately, and courteously to in-store and online vehicle exchange inquiries.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced team environment, take initiative independently, and work individually when needed.
