About The Position

The Used Make Ready Technician plays a key role in building an efficient and effective service team while ensuring customer satisfaction remains at the highest possible level. This includes providing accurate pricing, prompt response times, and superior service. The role also involves overseeing jobs to ensure accurate diagnosis and repair, helping to keep customers’ operating costs to a minimum. In addition, the technician is responsible for maintaining acceptable preventative maintenance times, PIPs, and flat rates, while ensuring proper documentation, an orderly flow of internal paperwork, and prompt work order invoicing - within three days of the last day of labor on PM work orders, and within five days on PIP work orders. Clear communication with customers is also essential, keeping them informed about the progress of their machine before, during, and after service. The position requires managing the department to meet both budget and company goals. The Used Make Ready Technician must be capable of performing all functions of the coordinator role, as well as any additional duties requested by the Service Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • Competent working knowledge of Toyota Lift of Houston programs and systems to support a successful training process.
  • Technical knowledge and experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Intermediate user of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint or equivalent
  • Must have a solid background in proper diagnostic procedures
  • Must be self-motivated and a self-starter
  • Ability to work well with internal and external customers
  • Must be able to accomplish all requirements with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Review daily back-order report to ensure parts are on time and not delayed
  • Assist with opening as well as processing all open work orders
  • Manage techs with diagnostics
  • Maintain used fleet assets
  • Maintain shop supplies for used parts such as Seats, Forks, Batteries and Chargers, etc.
  • Manage and ensure cleanliness of the shop
  • Ensure all deadlines and time expectations are met
  • Ensure all quality inspections are complete and accurate before the machine leaves the yard
  • Keep sales team updated with delivery ETA
  • Manage batteries and chargers sublet/repairs
  • Inspect all incoming units with basic condition report and pictures
  • All appointments with sales personnel to inspect units with customers
  • Inspect TCF units at Fulcrum app within 5 days of arrival
  • Coordinating freight within branches and purchased units from vendors
  • Labeling units with color coded to determine if these are inspected / Retail / Wholesale or Pictures taken
  • Approving all shop repairs for sold or stock make ready
  • Keep current on new systems, technology, and advancements in the industry
  • Continual learning through TMHU per the provided learning plan completed by service department
