About The Position

Confidence Chevy Buick GMC, a Cavender Auto Family dealership, is seeking a Used Car Sales Director to lead its sales department. The role oversees department goals, budgeting, staffing, scheduling, sales training, employee performance, and sales operations. The director works with other dealership managers, supports salespeople in closing deals, helps improve sales performance, advises on inventory, and contributes to advertising and promotional efforts.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Successfully complete an MVR check, background check, and pre-employment drug test.
Valid driver's license.
At least 2 years of experience leading a high-performing sales team.
Provide references upon request.

Nice To Haves

Experience in F&I is highly desired but not required.
Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Forecast department goals and objectives and prepare and administer an annual operating budget to meet them.
Work with other department managers to promote cooperation and teamwork throughout the dealership.
Recruit, hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of sales employees.
Direct and schedule the activities of department employees.
Guide salespeople in setting short- and long-range objectives.
Develop and organize a training schedule, as directed by the GSM, to provide sales training and role-playing sessions daily.
Help salespeople close deals when necessary.
Ensure customers speak with a manager before leaving the dealership when possible.
Assist in developing improvement programs for salespeople who are not meeting their objectives.
Recommend new and used car inventory levels to the GSM or GM.
Assist in developing advertising campaigns and other promotions.
Follow up on leads and increase ROI on online marketing.
Perform other duties as assigned.
