Used Car Mechanic
About The Position
Kendall Hyundai of Vancouver is hiring a used car technician for a non-entry-level position. The role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and identifying work needed on various vehicles; performing adjustments and calibrations; replenishing fluids; disassembling and reassembling vehicle components; and repairing or replacing parts. The mechanic uses independent judgment, documents work and hours in accordance with manufacturer and Kendall policies, and road-tests vehicles to verify work quality and resolve issues. Work is performed indoors in a shop environment. The position requires standing and walking throughout the work shift, frequent pushing, pulling, crouching, squatting, reaching, and kneeling, and occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of 20 to 100 pounds. Mechanic’s hand and power tools that produce significant vibration and force are used. The position starts at $25.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Mechanical or technician experience at a dealership or large independent shop; this is not an entry-level position.
- Ability to operate a wide variety of vehicles with both automatic and manual transmissions.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Nice To Haves
- ASE certifications are a plus but are not required.
