About The Position
Provides outpatient urgent care services to patients of all ages in Lafayette and West Lafayette, Indiana. The role has clinical-only coverage, with an average daily patient volume of 35–40. Coverage begins January 1, 2027, and continues ongoing. The physician works a rotating schedule from 7:45 a.m. to 8:15 p.m., three 12-hour shifts per week, including weekends. Coverage is supplemental. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered. Hospital privileges are required.
Requirements
- Board certified or board eligible.
- Licensed in Indiana or eligible through the IMLC.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- PALS certification.
- Hospital privileges are required.
Responsibilities
- Provide urgent care services to patients of all ages, including evaluation and treatment of acute illnesses and injuries.
- Perform physical examinations and order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory work and X-rays.
- Document patient encounters accurately in the Cerner EMR.
- Collaborate with RNs, MAs, and PAs to support efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
- Follow clinical protocols and comply with regulatory and safety standards.
