About The Position

The Urgent Care Physician provides outpatient urgent care services for adult and pediatric patients in Eureka, Missouri. The role covers an ongoing need beginning ASAP and is intended to address extra patient volume. The physician will see approximately 36–48 patients per day and manage cases including minor procedures, wound care, X-rays, and EKGs. The setting has Epic as its EMR, X-ray and EKG equipment, and support from one medical assistant and one office staff member. Malpractice insurance is covered by the vendor; hospital privileges are not required. The posted schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with weekend hours moving to 12-hour shifts. The physician must commit to at least six 12-hour shifts per month and be available for both weekdays and weekends.

Requirements

ABMS or AOB board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Med/Peds; board eligible candidates must be board certified within five years of residency.
Active Missouri license.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
At least 50 patient encounters in the last 12 months, with experience correlating to the requested privilege.
Comfort with minor procedures, including sutures, casts, and splints, and with reading EKGs and X-rays.
EMR proficiency.
Willingness to work independently with medical assistants, scribes, and radiology technicians.
Commitment to at least six shifts per month, with weekday and weekend availability.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive urgent care services to adult and pediatric patients in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
Perform minor procedures, including suturing, wound care, incision and drainage, splinting, and casting.
Interpret X-rays and EKGs to diagnose and manage acute conditions.
Work collaboratively with medical assistants, scribes, and radiology technicians to support efficient patient flow.
Commit to at least six shifts per month, including availability for weekend and 12-hour shifts as scheduled.
