This co-op position offers a 12-16 month temporary opportunity in Barrie, starting in Fall 2026, providing valuable experience in project management within the distribution sector.

Requirements

  • Currently in 2nd year or 3rd year of a 4-year Engineering, Business or Finance program (Project Management focus an asset).
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Requires knowledge of technical writing to prepare effective reports.
  • Requires knowledge of engineering and/or business administration and financial reporting.
  • Requires mathematics, information technology, analytical studies related to the application, design, and performance of the transmission/distribution system.
  • Demonstrated strong communication, organization, and planning skills.
  • Ability to function effectively as a team member with a demonstrated ability to be an agent of change.
  • Requires excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Must be enrolled in post-secondary level studies and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term (exceptions made for students requiring a work term to graduate).
  • If an international student, must have obtained a proper work permit and a Social Insurance Number (SIN).

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management focus in program.
  • Strong working knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft Office (Visio/Excel/Word/PowerPoint), SAP, etc is an asset.
  • PMP certification an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assist in ongoing project management support of Distribution lines and/or Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects.
  • Assist in creating documentation for requests for quote (RFQs) and requests for proposal (RFPs) during the procurement stage of projects.
  • Receive assignments from supervisors on problems related to assigned area of work.
  • Research available resources and contacts and propose effective recommendations.
  • Assist in the analysis of problems and develop strategies and preferred solutions; and assist in the delivery of the solution through suppliers and service providers.
  • Assist in managing small- and large-scale deliverables in a cross functional team.
  • Gather, consolidate, analyze and present project data (metrics, project status, financial) in spreadsheets and dashboards to improve decision making.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and specifications for projects and programs.
  • Work with others, including different project managers, as required.
  • Assist in managing and tracking project budget and status; report on variances and assist in redirection of programs and projects.
  • Assist in driving project success through timely update requests.
  • Perform other duties as required.
