About The Position

The Universal Teller I processes customer bank transactions and provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service while following bank teller policies and procedures. The role requires maintaining a balanced cash drawer and building customer relationships to identify products and services that meet customers’ banking needs. This is a part-time, in-office position in Teller Operations.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED equivalent.
Skills in oral and written communication, 10-key, accuracy, teamwork, following guidelines, sales and results focus, customer service, learning, mathematics, critical thinking, problem solving, and sound judgment and decision-making.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual ability, preferred for border markets.
1 to 6 months of cash-handling experience preferred.
1 or more years of experience interacting with people preferred.

Responsibilities

Process paying and receiving teller transactions.
Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service in keeping with the IBC Experience.
Balance and maintain an assigned cash box and vault, if applicable, and perform end-of-day processes.
Promote bank products and services through lobby, motor bank, and outreach activities to meet customers’ financial needs.
Meet sales performance goals and participate in referral programs.
Participate in product and service initiatives that support bank growth.
Attend company meetings.
Process foreign currency transactions.
Follow procedures to minimize errors and reduce losses.
Assist with issues related to customer transactions and answer banking-related inquiries.
Operate and maintain necessary teller equipment.
Assist with branch procedures under dual-control requirements, including opening and closing the branch.
Assist with on-the-job training at the employee’s branch and other branches.
Be flexible in reporting to work at and assisting other branches.
Perform sales functions and other duties as assigned.
