Universal Banker I – Floater (Chicago Suburbs)
About The Position
The Floating Universal Banker I provides prompt, efficient, and friendly service to deliver an excellent experience for customers and employees. The role recognizes customer needs and recommends or refers customers to appropriate bank products and services. It performs banking tasks accurately and efficiently while following established bank policies and procedures. The banker should be outgoing, sales-oriented, flexible, adaptable, and results-driven, and able to work independently and as part of a team, make sound decisions, and apply critical thinking. The position requires travel to various Illinois locations, excluding locations within the city of Chicago. A 10% float stipend is included.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least six months of customer service or cash-handling experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- A smartphone running iOS or Android that supports security features required by the Bank's IT security guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Process teller-line transactions, including deposits, loan payments, cash and endorsement verification, check cashing, and issuing official checks; this may include providing overrides and approvals.
- Count and balance the cash drawer daily, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Follow BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures and report suspicious activity.
- Maintain integrity and keep bank business and information confidential.
- Engage customers to understand their needs and make appropriate product and service recommendations.
- Assist customers with routine questions and account maintenance requests.
- Develop proficiency in processing vault transactions, including balancing and other required daily transactions.
- Develop proficiency in opening and closing the banking center, including end-of-day processing.
- Develop proficiency in all required teller-line operational activities.
- Learn the bank's security system and assist in testing alarms.
- Assist in completing required reports.
