About The Position

The Unit Associate I assists a Registered Nurse and the patient care team by providing nutritional, clinical, and transportation services and activities that promote patient comfort and satisfaction. The role contributes to a positive work environment as an active team member committed to learning and skill development.

The position is with Atlantic Visiting Nurse, part of Atlantic Health. The posting lists a full-time day schedule of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of six months of steady work history.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of health care work experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of and familiarity with hospital equipment, supplies, and procedures.
• Ability to identify clinical and environmental emergency or urgent situations and follow established procedures.
• Highly effective interpersonal communication skills for interacting with interprofessional staff, patients, families, visitors, and other hospital employees.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory supplies and stock units according to established procedures and standards.
• Transport patients and equipment; deliver records and specimens.
• Assist nursing and medical personnel with delegated direct and indirect patient-care activities.
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
