About The Position

PGS USA is hiring a part-time unarmed security officer for overnight work at a gatehouse in Auburndale, Florida. The officer will help protect people and property by maintaining a visible professional presence, monitoring access, responding to incidents and alarms, and recording observations. Candidates must have a valid Florida Class D security license and be available Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Prior security, law enforcement, or related experience is preferred. Applicants must pass a background check and drug screening.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Florida Class D security license.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments while demonstrating professionalism and sound judgment.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Available to work Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
• Able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, with a minimum of one hour.
• Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Able to function independently and remain calm in high-pressure or intense situations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible, professional presence to deter illegal activity and help ensure the safety of personnel, visitors, and property.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
• Monitor and control property access by verifying and documenting incoming and outgoing trucks, drivers, vendors, and authorized personnel.
• Use customer service and communication skills to de-escalate tense or potentially violent situations.
• Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
• Accurately document and report incidents, activities, and observations using company-approved forms and protocols.
• Inspect the premises for security risks, hazards, or violations and report findings to appropriate personnel.
• Comply with state regulations, including maintaining current unarmed security licensure in Florida.
