About The Position

Treston Security Services is seeking a dependable and observant Unarmed Security Officer to provide overnight security at a construction site in Hillsboro, Tennessee. The officer will help protect property, equipment, and construction materials by maintaining a visible security presence, monitoring access, conducting assigned patrols, and promptly reporting suspicious activity or safety concerns. The role requires reliability, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to remain attentive overnight. A current, valid Tennessee Guard Card, reliable transportation, and availability for the full assigned schedule are required. At least one year of previous security experience is preferred but not required. This assignment takes place at an active construction site during overnight hours. Duties may involve standing, walking designated patrol routes, and monitoring outdoor areas in varying weather conditions. Officers must remain aware of construction-related hazards, follow site-specific safety instructions, and perform assigned duties safely, with or without reasonable accommodation. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM Central Time, for four scheduled 12-hour overnight shifts per week. The final shift begins Thursday evening and ends Friday morning. Reliable attendance and availability for the complete assigned schedule are essential. Pay is $17.00–$18.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

Possess a current, valid Tennessee Guard Card available for verification.
Have reliable transportation to and from the assigned construction site in Hillsboro.
Be available for the full Monday–Thursday overnight schedule, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Demonstrate the ability to remain attentive and dependable during overnight assignments.
Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors, site personnel, visitors, and emergency responders when necessary.
Follow written and verbal instructions, maintain accurate records, and promptly report incidents or concerns.
Exercise sound judgment and work independently while following established security procedures.
Perform assigned duties safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of previous security experience; this is preferred but not required.
Relevant experience in property protection, overnight security, access control, patrol duties, or construction-site security.

Responsibilities

Maintain a visible security presence to help deter unauthorized entry, theft, vandalism, and other activity that could compromise the property.
Conduct assigned patrols of designated site areas, including accessible perimeter areas, gates, entry points, equipment storage areas, and other locations identified in post orders.
Monitor site access, verify authorization for individuals or vehicles when required, and document access activity according to site procedures.
Observe construction equipment, tools, and stored materials for tampering, unauthorized removal, damage, or suspicious activity.
Identify and promptly report safety concerns, such as unsecured access points, damaged fencing, fire hazards, and leaks.
Follow site safety procedures and remain outside restricted or hazardous work areas unless authorized.
Respond to incidents according to established reporting and escalation procedures, request assistance when necessary, and act within assigned duties and training.
Complete required activity logs, patrol records, and incident reports with clear, factual information.
Keep supervisors informed of relevant activity and provide an accurate handoff to relieving personnel when applicable.
Arrive on time, remain alert throughout the shift, and follow assigned post orders and site-specific instructions.
