About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer to serve as an Access Point Attendant at a chemical/petrochemical location in Houston, Texas. The officer will manage entry points, verify badges and visitor access, monitor activity, and help maintain a secure environment while providing customer service and clear communication. The role is scheduled Thursday and Friday from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM and pays $15.00 per hour. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Access-control or badge experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to authorized personnel and visitors while following site-specific access-control procedures and security policies; perform emergency response activities when appropriate.
Verify identification, credentials, and authorization for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors entering or exiting the location; issue visitor passes and maintain accurate access records.
Monitor access points, gates, and alarm systems; control vehicle and pedestrian entry according to site procedures and help deter unauthorized access.
Respond calmly to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations; notify appropriate site contacts and document observations and actions taken.
Conduct regular and random patrols of designated access points, parking areas, business spaces, and perimeter areas.
