About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Branch Flex Officer to serve and safeguard clients across a range of industries. The Security Officer Flex Unarmed Site Patrol role is based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and offers exposure to varied sites and assignments as well as opportunities for career advancement.

The position is scheduled for 30–40 hours per week. Weekly schedules vary and combine manager-assigned shifts with shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly, and officers may receive irregular shift assignments with little to no advance notice. Candidates must be flexible about last-minute changes, work varying shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, and have reliable transportation to reach assigned sites.

The role involves patrolling designated areas on foot or in a vehicle, monitoring for security or safety concerns, responding to incidents, controlling access, and assisting customers, employees, and visitors. The stated pay rate is $18.41 per hour.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Be available for last-minute shift scheduling and willing to adjust schedules with minimal notice.
• Have reliable transportation and be able to travel varying distances to assigned work locations.
• Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements before employment.
• Have a valid driver's license if assigned to a driving position.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
