About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Branch Flex Officer to safeguard clients across a range of industries. The role offers hands-on experience at varied sites and the opportunity to build security skills and pursue advancement within the company. The officer works 30–40 hours per week. Schedules, shifts, days, locations, and assignments vary regularly through manager-assigned shifts and the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Irregular shifts may be assigned with little to no advance notice to support client needs. The position is based in Rochester, New York.

The role involves patrolling designated areas, monitoring for safety and security concerns, controlling access, responding to incidents, preparing reports, and assisting customers, employees, and visitors professionally.

Requirements

• Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Be able to travel required distances for branch flex assignments.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, if required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire departments in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary under site Post Orders.
