About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Flex Unarmed Patrol in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The officer will serve and safeguard clients across varied industries and sites, gaining hands-on experience in different work environments. The role pays $18.00 per hour and typically involves 30–40 hours per week. Schedules vary week to week through manager-assigned shifts and shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly, and officers may receive irregular shifts with little to no advance notice. Candidates must be flexible and able to respond to last-minute scheduling needs, work varying shifts, and commute to assigned locations.

The officer performs unarmed security patrols and helps protect people and property by observing conditions, responding to incidents, controlling access, and preparing reports. The role requires courteous interactions with customers, employees, and visitors and making emergency notifications as directed by site Post Orders.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Must be available for last-minute shift scheduling and be willing to adjust schedules with minimal notice.
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel the required distances to assigned work locations.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or the fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
