About The Position

Security Engineers, Inc. is hiring an Unarmed Security Officer for a third-shift position in Tennessee. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, midnight to 7 a.m.; the posting also states that weekend availability, including Saturday and Sunday, is required. Pay is $16.92–$18.00 per hour. Employment is contingent on satisfactory completion of a post-offer background investigation and drug screen; a criminal background check may be required by law for this safety-sensitive, licensed security role. The officer will patrol and monitor a facility, respond to incidents and alarms, maintain activity and incident records, perform routine security tasks, assist visitors and employees, and enforce site procedures and company and client policies. The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a valid Tennessee Security Officer/Guard License when performing regulated activities in the state. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; no prior experience is required. The position is full-time and reports to the Branch Manager.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Have or obtain and maintain a valid Tennessee Security Officer/Guard License when providing regulated activities in Tennessee.
Be available to work weekends, including Saturday and Sunday.
Be able to perform in high-paced, potentially stressful environments.
Have strong situational awareness and curiosity.
Be able to stay calm, solve problems, and act effectively in critical situations.
Have basic computer skills and the ability to use a tablet for reporting.
Stand for at least one hour without support or a break.
Sit for at least one hour without a break.
Walk at least one-half mile without stopping.
Climb at least 20 commercial facility stairs without stopping.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Two or more years of verifiable customer service experience.
Tennessee Unarmed Security License.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular walking patrols to enhance safety and identify and report concerns.
Monitor facility access points and verify IDs and credentials.
Monitor surveillance feeds for signs of threats or breaches.
Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents using established protocols.
Maintain accurate logs of activities, incidents, and observations.
Perform routine tasks such as locking and unlocking doors and managing security systems.
Assist visitors and employees and address concerns professionally.
Enforce security procedures according to Security Post Instructions.
Ensure compliance with company and client policies, including rules concerning smoking, loitering, and parking.
