Freelance Trunk Show Stylist - 10/26-11/1

M.M. LaFleur•San Francisco, CA
•Onsite

About The Position

M.M.LaFleur is bringing a curated trunk show to San Francisco, and we're looking for a freelance Stylist to help us make it a success. You'll work with clients in 1:1 styling appointments and at networking events, recommending complete looks and closing sales. You'll also help keep the space running smoothly, from inventory organization to setup and breakdown. This is a short-term engagement for someone who learns fast, sells naturally, and is happy to jump in wherever the team needs them.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in premium retail, personal styling, or another client-facing sales role.
  • Strong styling instincts and a genuine eye for fit, proportion, and how clothing works for different bodies and lifestyles.
  • Proven ability to sell: you're an order-maker, not an order-taker.
  • A quick study who can absorb new product and brand information fast.
  • Clear, warm communication with clients and teammates alike.
  • Reliable and punctual; you show up ready and ask questions when something's unclear.
  • A positive, team-first attitude. Nothing is above or below you.
  • Comfortable with tablets, point-of-sale systems, and new technology.
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the trunk show assortment, key fabrics and fits, and the M.M.LaFleur brand story ahead of and during the event.
  • Style clients in 1:1 appointments: ask the right questions, assess their needs, and recommend complete looks.
  • Make confident recommendations, handle objections, and close sales while delivering an elevated client experience.
  • Engage guests at networking events: start natural conversations, introduce the brand, and convert interest into appointments and sales.
  • Organize and track inventory throughout the event, including restocking, size runs, and fitting room recovery.
  • Maintain the space to brand standards so it looks polished at all times.
  • Process transactions and support check-in and appointment flow.
  • Help with event setup and breakdown, including unpacking, merchandising, packing, and inventory counts (availability on Oct 26 and/or Nov 1 preferred).
  • Work closely with the M.M.LaFleur event team and communicate clearly about client needs, inventory, and anything that needs attention.
