About The Position

The Truck Service Advisor provides customer service at TA Truck Service locations using knowledge of the products sold and services provided. The role is primarily responsible for writing work orders, suggestive selling, and processing over-the-counter transactions, helping customers get back on the road. The advisor also coordinates parts sourcing and delivery, communicates estimates and timelines, prepares shift reports, and helps maintain a clean and safe service area. The work may involve outdoor conditions in all seasons, loud noise, fumes, particles, vibration, and exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, gas, and cleaning solutions.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Previous cashier and customer service experience.
Professional presentation when interacting with customers, management, and coworkers.
Strong suggestive selling skills.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, in interior and exterior conditions.
Valid driver's license.

Experience in a repair or parts shop.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service and maintain knowledge of products and services.
Use suggestive selling to help generate revenue and influence customers professionally and with integrity.
Write, detail, and process work orders and over-the-counter transactions, including properly writing ETA work orders.
Secure purchase orders and prepare and communicate quotes to customers.
Source parts from outside vendors and coordinate delivery.
Prepare end-of-shift drops and shift reports, and understand various payment types.
Maintain cleanliness of service counters, showrooms, and customer restrooms.
Help maintain the safety of customers and team members.
