About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Indianapolis, Indiana, for a home-daily shuttle route from Indianapolis to Cincinnati, Ohio. The driver delivers solo, transporting steel freight in a day cab with 48-foot and 53-foot flatbed trailers. Loads require strapping and tarping. Trucks are 36 months old or newer and include 24/7 roadside maintenance support, with fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, with a 5:30 PM start time. Pay is $30.77 per hour, with a guaranteed $1,230 per week and overtime paid after 40 hours. The position includes paid training, quarterly tenure bonuses, and sign-on bonus payments at 30 and 90 days. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

Comply with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load or unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
