About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Corbin, Kentucky. This is a local, home-daily, solo driving position delivering auto parts across Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, and Alabama. Drivers use a day-cab tractor and a 53-foot dry van and must be able to drive both automatic and manual transmissions. Freight is no-touch. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays, and the start time may be in the morning or evening. Drivers are responsible for a 10-hour daily window.

Drivers earn $275–$310 per day when running routes, are paid weekly, and have a weekly guarantee of $1,280. Ryder states that drivers on this account can earn up to $1,550 or more weekly. Trucks are well maintained, are 36 months old or newer, and come with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Be able to drive both automatic and manual transmissions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
