About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Non-CDL heavy-touch truck driver in Tualatin, Oregon. The role delivers medical supplies on an Oregon route and is home daily. Drivers operate a 26-foot straight truck without air brakes and use a pallet jack and stair walkers for heavy-touch freight. The position pays $29.00 per hour, averages 50 hours per week, and follows a Monday–Friday schedule with a start time between 4 and 7 a.m. Drivers operate well-maintained trucks, supported by 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at Ryder maintenance locations. A TWIC card is preferred but not required; Ryder will reimburse for it.

The position includes uniforms and a boot allowance, access to a 401(k) rollover with company match after one year, 12 weeks of paid maternity leave subject to eligibility criteria, employee discounts, and driver referral bonuses. Drivers are expected to make safety decisions and perform delivery, freight-handling, recordkeeping, and compliance duties.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have verifiable Class A or Class B experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Nice To Haves

• A TWIC card is preferred but not required; Ryder will reimburse for it.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading when required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
