About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class B CDL truck driver in Antioch, Tennessee. This local, solo driving role delivers auto body parts to the surrounding area and provides home-daily routes in a 26-foot box truck. Freight handling is touch freight. The position pays weekly, with stated compensation of $1,442 per week based on solo mileage pay of $0.65 per mile for approximately 1,885 miles per week and stop pay of $20 per stop for approximately five stops per week. Paid training is provided.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a 7:30 p.m. start time. Drivers operate well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Ryder describes the role as giving drivers autonomy to make safety decisions, with company support during their careers.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have verifiable Class A or Class B experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: nine months within the past three years, or two years within the last five years, or five years within the last ten years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
