About The Position
Ryder is hiring a Class B Truck Driver in Walton Hills, Ohio. This local, home-daily position delivers hydraulic system parts solo within a 120-mile radius of Walton Hills. Drivers operate a straight truck with a 26-foot dry van trailer and use a manual pallet jack and lift gate. Ryder provides training on the equipment needed for the role and operates trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The position pays $23.58 per hour, with estimated weekly pay of $1,120–$1,296 and 45 or more hours per week. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with dispatch start times between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Paid training is provided. The role includes company driver support and emphasizes driver safety and autonomy.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Pass a Ryder drug test.
- Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
- Pass a DOT physical.
- Pass a Ryder road test.
- Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
- Have verifiable Class A or Class B experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
- Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
- Maintain accurate records and logs.
- Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading when required by the customer.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
