About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class B CDL truck driver in Antioch, Tennessee, for a local route with daily home time. The driver delivers auto body parts to the surrounding area using a 26-foot box truck. Freight is touch freight. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 7:30 PM. Drivers are paid weekly, with stated pay of $1,442 per week based on solo mileage pay of $0.65 per mile for 1,885 miles per week and stop pay of $20 per stop for five stops per week. Paid training is provided.

Ryder drivers operate well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The company describes the role as offering autonomy on the road and support behind the scenes, including support for drivers transitioning from owner-operator trucks to company driving.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have verifiable Class A or Class B experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Some positions may require additional employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks and road tests, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
