About The Position

Ryder is hiring a part-time Class A CDL Truck Driver in Alburtis, Pennsylvania. The role involves solo local shuttle deliveries within a 50-mile radius, with drivers home daily. The schedule starts at 3:00 PM. Drivers average $230 per day and earn $29.68 per hour, with a quarterly safety bonus of $250–$280 if applicable. The freight is truck parts and is no-touch. The vehicle is a day-cab tractor hauling a 53-foot dry van. Drivers operate well-maintained, safe trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The position emphasizes safe commercial driving, compliance with safety and DOT regulations, ongoing training, and customer service. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check, including verification of drug and alcohol history from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have verifiable Class A tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle experience meeting one of these alternatives: 9 months within the past 3 years, 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Some positions may require additional screening, which can include employment and education verification, a motor vehicle records check, a road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

Safely drive a commercial vehicle while complying with safety and DOT regulations.
Complete continuous training and provide customer service.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load or unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading, if required by the customer.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
