About The Position

Ryder is hiring a part-time Class A CDL truck driver in Alburtis, Pennsylvania. The position delivers truck parts on a local shuttle route within a 50-mile radius, with drivers home daily. Freight is no-touch and is transported in a 53-foot dry van pulled by a day-cab tractor. The advertised start time is 3:00 PM. Pay is weekly, with an average daily amount of $230 and hourly pay of $29.68. A quarterly safety bonus of $250–$280 is available if applicable. Ryder provides uniforms and a boot allowance. Trucks are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance support and access to company maintenance facilities nationwide. The role requires safe commercial driving, compliance with safety and DOT regulations, ongoing training, and customer service. Drivers are expected to make safety decisions and maintain accurate records and logs.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check, including verification of drug and alcohol history from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical and a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Some positions may require additional screening, such as employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks, road tests, customer badging, or customer background requirements.

Responsibilities

Safely drive a commercial vehicle while complying with safety and DOT regulations.
Follow applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading, if required by the customer.
Complete continuous training and provide customer service.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
