About The Position

Ryder is hiring a part-time Class A CDL Truck Driver in Alburtis, Pennsylvania. The position involves solo shuttle deliveries within a 50-mile radius, with local routes and daily home time. Drivers transport truck parts in a 53-foot dry van using a day cab. Freight is no-touch. The schedule starts at 3:00 PM.

Pay is weekly, with an average of $230 per day and an hourly rate of $29.68. A safety bonus of $250–$280 per quarter may be available, if applicable. Trucks are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and access to more than 800 nationwide maintenance facilities for fueling.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a commercial vehicle while complying with safety and DOT regulations, completing continuous training, and providing customer service.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading if required by the customer.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
